Final of National Competition (WorldSkills Russia) kicks off in Kazan

On 19 May, the final of the 7th National Competition “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) kicked off in Kazan. The event will take place on 20-24 May, 2019.

The opening ceremony of the 7th National Competition “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) will take place in LDS Tatneft Arena at 7 p.m. Online streaming of the opening ceremony will be available here.

The competition is organized by the Union “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia), Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, ANO Directorate for Sports and Social Projects, and ANO Centre for development of skills.

Young professionals will compete in 92 Skills (including 56 Skills to be presented at the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Competition), and 48 Junior Skills. 1,519 Competitors from 85 Russian regions, 164 Competitors from 23 countries, 1,569 Experts, 1,800 Volunteers will be involved on the event. More than 17,000 visitors are expected to attend the competition.

“Skills of the Wise” (50+) will be held as part of the main competition programme. 26 Skills will be presented. 391 Competitor and 26 Chief Experts responsible for “50+” Skills will be involved in the event. The Competition will take place at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre and will become a test event just before the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Competition to be held on 22-27 August 2019.

A range of services will be tested during the competition: security organization, volunteer recruitment and management, occupational safety and health organization, visitor programme, sightseeing routes for organized and non-organized groups, catering for client groups, transport, logistics, information desks, venue building, exhibition services, excursions, outfit distribution, accreditation procedure, try-a-skill activity and so on.

Besides the Kazan Expo Center, the competition will be held at 5 other venues: Car Painting – TransTechService (96, Dekabristov street); Cooking, Confectionery, Bakery – International College of Service (58B, Adoratskogo street); Air Transport Service – Kazan International Airport; Print Media Technology – Interregional Centre of Skills (3A, Galeev street), and A-Press Printing House (21/2, Aktaiskaya street).

Competitors and Team Leaders will be accommodated in the WorldSkills Village (Universiade Village). For the Competition’s client groups, arrival and departure accompaniment services, information desks at the Kazan International Airport, continuous staff operation throughout the day will be available. Also, assistance will be provided in case of lost baggage.

The Visitor Programme was organized in order to provide vocational guidance, popularize skills, and test services. 16,820 people will take part in the event, including 170 guests from Russian regions close to the Republic of Tatarstan, and 2,400 representatives of regions of the Republic of Tatarstan, and 14,250 attendees from Kazan. Excursions to the competition venues will be organized for visitors during the Competition.

On 21-23 May 2019, the Conference Programme in the format of plenary sessions, seminars and round tables will be organized in the conference halls of the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre. About 1,000 representatives of federal and regional government bodies, heads of enterprises and educational organizations are expected to attend the event.

For the purpose of medical support, 4 levels of medical care will be organized at the Competition venues: 9 flexible medical teams (including a doctor accompanied by a medical assistant); 11 medical stations (including a doctor, a nurse, a volunteer of medicine); 14 ambulance cars; diagnostics and treatment in hospitals.

1,800 volunteers, including volunteers of service areas (arrival and departure, transport, media services, catering, accreditation, etc.), attachés, competition area volunteers, information desks, and spectator programme volunteers, are expected to take part in the event.

A large number of federal and regional partners are involved in the preparation and holding of the Competition: PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim, OOO AK BARS Development, OOO FIRMA MVEN, PAO Kazan Helicopter Plant, Kazan Aviation Plant named after Gorbunova – branch of PAO Tupolev, PAO Kamaz, OOO Ford Sollers Yelabuga, and other representatives of the Republic of Tatarstan.
