WorldSkills Conference
On 23-25 August 2019, the WorldSkills Conference 2019 was held alongside the 45th WorldSkills Competition at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre (Kazan, Russia). Young professionals taking part in the Competition, representatives of 82 WorldSkills Member countries/regions including politicians, researchers, industrial partners, heads of educational organizations, and representatives of development institutions gathered at the Conference to discuss economic and technology trends, development of vocational training systems, and transformation of the labour market.
The first two days of WorldSkills Conference 2019: Skills for Change: Building Blocks for Impact (23-24 August) were devoted to the global challenges and macroregional solutions for the future economy.
A national track was part of WorldSkills Conference 2019 for the first time. The leaders of change were selected through a competitive selection process. Teams were formed for the implementation of projects aimed at the development of the national educational ecosystem. Delegates had access to the best international practices and expertise, and an opportunity to attend WorldSkills Conference 2019. As part of the national track, an additional working day was arranged (Day 3 – 25 August). Participants of the Conference were able to focus on creating development projects, and implementing the best international practices into the national training system.
