Opening Ceremony
Over 140 mln spectators, including TV audience, saw the official kickoff of the Competition. Renowned performance groups of the Republic of Tatarstan and such famous singers as Yolka, Alexander Panayotov, Yan Ge, Therr Maitz indi pop band and others were in the lineup of the Opening Ceremony.
22 August 2019 (Thursday)
- 16:30 – opening of the entrance gates at the Kazan Arena Stadium;
- 18:00 – pre-time show;
- 19:00 – start time of the Opening Ceremony;
- 21:15 – end of the Opening Ceremony.
During the show at the Kazan Arena Stadium, augmented reality technology was used for the first time in Russia. The audience in the grandstands was able to watch AR effects through the screens of their devices, using the WSK 2019 AR Experience app, specially developed for the Ceremony, and through the screens of the stadium. Special signals on the screens warned the audience when an AR effect was to come up.
It was possible to download the AR application – WSK 2019 AR Experience – in advance before the show.
Please note that not all devices powered by Android support augmented reality technolody. Besides, the device should have the original firmware and be connected to the Internet.

Closing Ceremony
During the Ceremony that crowned the 45th WorldSkills Competition, winners ranking first, second, and third were presented gold, silver, and bronze medals respectively. Besides that, top-scorers of the Competition were bestowed with the Albert Vidal Award, Best of Nation Award, and Medallions for Excellence. According to the Competition rules, the results remain unknown to Competitors and spectators until the Ceremony, and the announcement always gets a very emotional response from the audience. The Ceremony finished with handing-over the WorldSkills flag to the Delegates from China, the host of the next world competition, WorldSkills Shanghai 2021. The Ceremony involved various singers and bands, including Levan Gorozia, Dimash Kudaibergen, Zventa Sventana, BRIO SONORES, as well as LOBODA and Filipp Kirkorov.

- 22:30 – end of the Closing Ceremony.
Tickets
Tickets could be purchased here, and also in the ticket offices of the Kazan Arena Stadium (from 10:00 to 19:00 daily). The price varied from RUB 300-1,000. For the questions regarding the tickets, the spectators were recommended to contact the call centre at 8-800-600-62-83 (from 08:00 to 20:00 daily).

Useful information
To enjoy the Ceremonies of the Competition, spectators were recommended to study carefully the rules of conduct for visitors at WorldSkills Kazan 2019 venues and the list of prohibited items/items not allowed at storage rooms in the territory of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 venues as given on the Tickets page.
Streaming
Those not attending the Opening and Closing Ceremonies personally, had a chance to see them broadcast on Novy Vek (TNV) and Russia 24 TV channels. The Opening Ceremony started on 22 August at 19:30, and the Closing Ceremony started at 19:00 (TNV) and 21:00 (Russia 24) on 27 August. The Ceremonies were also streamed online.
How to get to Kazan Arena
• Bypass crossover of the third traffic dam in both directions;
• Bypass road round the Kazan Arena Stadium;
• Jughandle under the third traffic dam in both directions;
• Sibgata Khakima St. in both directions;
• Chistopolskaya St. in both directions;
• Exit roads from 85a Chistopolskaya St. and 79 Chistopolskaya St.

On the days of the Ceremonies, special free shuttle buses for visitors run from the Kozya Sloboda metro station to the Kazan Arena Stadium from 16:00 to 18:30.
Besides, on the days of the Ceremonies, the number of public transport vehicles was increased to run along Khusaina Yamasheva Ave., Chistopolskaya St., and Dekabristov St.
On the days of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, residents and visitors coming to Kazan could also leave their personal vehicles at intercept parking areas at Leroy Merlin, XL Trading Centre, Megastroy, Riviera Hotel and Entertainment Complex, Ak Bars Martial Arts Palace, and at the underroof parking area of Tatneft Arena.
