Use of drones
Aerial videography and photography with use of drones and quadcopters (unmanned aircraft system – UAS, unmanned aerial vehicle – UAV) is considered to be a type of aerial work.
In accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, a written permission from a territorial body of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tatarstan) was required for aerial filming in the territory of the Competition venue.
In addition, the following authorities were to be notified in writing:
- Tataeronavigatsiya Branch of FSUE State ATM Corporation,
- Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Tatarstan,
- National Guard of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tatarstan (Rosgvardia).
Client groups also needed to obtain permission to fly from the local government authority – the Executive Committee of the Laishevsky Municipal District.
Flying and filming using UAS, UAV should not be conducted in restricted areas and restricted flight zones without appropriate permits. All the above-mentioned zones are specified here.
