On 16-18 October, citizens and guests of Kazan can visit the main building of the new exhibition complex during the “Road 2018” exhibition.
The exhibition, for the first time in 6 years, was moved from Moscow to the region of Russia. Kazan EXPO Exhibition Centre, the future site of the WorldSkills 2019, hosted the first event.
Igor Levitin, Aide to the President of the Russian Federation, and Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, visited the exhibition centre and attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition. Igor Levitin highly praised the venue: “Kazan EXPO is the place where all the conditions for the implementation of such events are created.”
In December 2018, another significant event, DigitalSkills Russia, will take place here. In June 2019, the final of the “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) National Competition will be held at the Kazan EXPO exhibition centre. These events will allow the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Organizers to test the venue.
“We are very pleased that we have managed to open the Kazan EXPO 10 months before the start. Each event held at the venue is a step towards the success of the most important international project of the next year, which Russia is supposed to host. The project is complicated from the point of view of organization of the work at the venue, therefore, its timely readiness is already 50 percent of a successful result”, noted Emil Gubaydullin, Project Manager of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019.
The total area of the complex is 75,831 sq.m. It features three exhibition pavilions connected by a gallery, the largest congress hall in the Volga Federal District with 3,000 seats; more than 30 conference halls with a capacity of 100 to 500 people each, over 3,000 parking lots. Indoor warm pedestrian crossing will connect the Kazan EXPO International Exhibition Center with Kazan airport and aeroexpress train station. The infrastructure capabilities of the complex are suitable for the organization of large-scale international events: exhibitions, congresses, conferences, festivals and concerts. During the WorldSkills Competition, temporary pavilions, the construction of which is still underway will also be occupied.
The WorldSkills Competition will take place on 22-27 August 2019 in Kazan. The site is currently under construction, with plans for completion in 2018. More than 1,600 people from more than 60 countries are expected to participate in the Competition.
