19.05.2019, 13:36

Shortly before the 45th WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Competition and the Final of the National Competition “Young Professionals” in Kazan, a professional skill fair SKILLS BAZAAR was held for the second time. On 19 May, the Gorky Park turned into a unique space where different thematic platforms were placed. As part of the SKILLS BAZAAR project, attendees were able to test themselves in a new role: florist or joiner, confectioner or mobile robot technician. All platforms were available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

At the grand opening, Jane Stokie, WorldSkills International Technical Director, and Rafis Burganov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, greeted all the participants and visitors of the SKILLS BAZAAR.

“The WorldSkills movement has existed for 70 years. When I was growing up, only two countries took part in this competition – Spain and Portugal. Now WorldSkills has become a global movement. From the very beginning, the main goal of the WorldSkills movement was to tackle youth unemployment. Now, the WorldSkills helps to bring talents to a new level. Today I am pleased to invite you to enjoy SKILLS BAZAAR, where young people and children can participate in workshops. On behalf of the WorldSkills International, I congratulate the Republic of Tatarstan on this wonderful festival. I hope that you will attend the Final of the National Competition “Young Professionals”, which will gather young professionals from all over Russia. Its opening ceremony will take place on 20 May. And in August, we invite you to the 45th Worldskills Kazan 2019 Competition, where the most talented professionals will compete for gold medals within their Skills”, said Jane Jane Stokie.

“We are holding SKILLS BAZAAR for the second time, this event is very popular, because there is an opportunity not only to see the work of experts with your own eyes, but also to take part in workshops, and try everything with your own hands, learning something new. Today 20 workshops are open here. There are less than 100 days left before the start of the 45th WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Competition, and a bit more than a day before the opening ceremony of the final of the WorldSkills Russia National Competition. Let us invite you to this competition”, admitted Rafis Burganov.

7,000 people attended SKILLS BAZAAR throughout the day. More than 100 workshops were held at the venue. 4,200 guests took part in them.
