Today, the 45th WorldSkills Competition’s Organizer presented its official uniforms for the staff and volunteers at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre.

The uniform of an Organizer’s employee features a sports t-shirt, polo shirt, and bomber jacket in grey and blue colours.

A volunteer’s outfit traditionally features mainly red colour items: a sports t-shirt, polo shirt, bomber jacket, zip-off pants, baseball cap, and raincoat.

Deputy Director General of the Directorate for Sports and Social Projects Alexander Karpov informed that 3,500 volunteers and 1,200 full-time and temporary employees would be working at WorldSkills Kazan 2019.

“The WorldSkills Kazan 2019 volunteer campaign resulted in more than 15 thousand candidate applications from 90 countries worldwide and from all regions of our country. After the recruitment process, the final team includes now 2,900 volunteers based in Kazan and municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan, 500 volunteers from 85 Russian regions, and 100 foreign volunteers representing 41 countries of the world,” Alexander Karpov told.

On 1 August, the first 30 volunteers will start working. “The operation period will start for us on 1 August, when Kazan Expo will welcome the first 30 volunteers. On 18 August, volunteers from other cities and countries will arrive,” explained Alexander Karpov.

In addition to standard services, volunteers will be provided with the mobile phone and Internet service by Megafon.

“Megafon is the telecommunications partner of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 ensuring service across the event’s venues. Investment in building the network at Kazan Expo totalled RUB 20 million. Eight 2G/3G/4G base stations operate to ensure the service in pavilions. Voice and data services rely on a mast system consisting of 144 fragments mounted onto the ceilings of three permanent pavilions. The exhibition centre’s area hosting the Competition’s permanent and temporary structures uses an additional outdoor base station,” Dmitry Kuznetsov, Director of the Regional Division of Megafon for Tatarstan commented.
