All-Russian Camp for the representatives of 15 volunteer recruiting centers arranged prior to the WorldSkills 2019 was launched in Kazan. Future recruiters, including 75 representatives of Russian regions and 25 representatives of Tatarstan, in cooperation with coaches and representatives of the Organizing Committee, will master the techniques of interviewing and assigning candidates to corresponding positions during five days, on 3-7 October. Emil Gubaydullin, WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Project Manager, Mikhail Leonov and Maxim Denisov, Deputy General Directors of ANO Directorate for Sports and Social Projects, took part in the educational session on the first day of the camp.
The educational programme is focused on the main theme – selection of candidates for the team of volunteers of the WorldSkills Competition. The start of the recruiting campaign is scheduled for October 2018, and it will last till March 2019 – in the course of this procedure, the team of recruiters will have to process applications from those wishing to join the team of volunteers from around the world. The work is expected to be serious – more than 10,000 people from the Russian Federation and 70 countries have already expressed their intention to take part in the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 as volunteers.
For proper selection and assignment of candidates to their positions, the recruiter should know literally everything about the upcoming event: from the programme, venues and dates of the Competition to the specifics, objectives and requirements to each particular position. More than 100 positions will be presented. Camp participants, together with the programme coaches and representatives of various functional areas of the Organizing Committee, will study out the objectives set by the recruiter, functional areas and processes of the recruiting center. Moreover, they will get familiar with the matrix of functional positions of volunteers, apply their knowledge into practice, and organize the “simulation” of the recruiting center operation.
In addition, in the course of the camp’s cultural and entertainment programme, participants will play an intellectual quiz, test their culinary skills during a workshop, overcome 1km volunteer race, and join a flash mob and other activities prepared by the Organizers.
It should be noted that almost one year has passed after fixing the volunteer recruiting centers arranged prior to the WorldSkills Kazan 2019. In the course of information and application campaign aimed at the popularization of the “Young Professionals” movement and volunteer movement of the Competition, teams of resource centers have carried out an extensive work for the last three quarters of 2018. More than 300 events have gathered almost 40,000 people. The average increase in applications from partner regions has reached 30%. 10,200 applications have been registered. The application period ends on 31 December 2018.
