Kazan International Airport has seen one of its busiest days, as participants of the 45th WorldSkills Competition have started landing today. Competitors, Experts, and Official Delegates have flown in from Finland, the Netherlands, Vietnam, Jamaica, Canada, Korea, Kazakhstan, India, Singapore, Australia, Poland, Hungary, Great Britain, New Zealand, United States of America, Indonesia, France, and many other countries.

Volunteers and officials welcomed the WorldSkills participants at Kazan’s airport.

“We are happy to extend our hospitality to the first batch of WorldSkills Kazan 2019 participants arriving in the capital of Tatarstan. Being part of the WorldSkills Competition is a top achievement for a professional and a unique opportunity for the youth to show their talent. More than 1,300 Competitors from 63 countries and regions are coming to Kazan to reveal the world’s best professionals. We wish everyone good luck and further professional development,” WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Project Executive Emil Gubaydullin said in his welcome speech to the guests.

For volunteers of the Competition, it was a great opportunity to meet other young people and experts passionate about skills.

“It’s been great to see the interaction between volunteers and participants, I am sure that they will remember this forever. I recall arriving in São Paulo as a competitor in 2015, a door had opened for me, it changed my life,” shares Anna Prokopenia, WorldSkills Champion Trust member.

The guests were overwhelmed by the welcome they received.

“It was something amazing; I’ve never expected such a welcome. The flight and the stopover went very smoothly, and, of course, it’s much more enjoyable to go to the Competition in such a positive, less stressed mood! I feel very grateful for such a warm reception,” one of the Competitors said.

“I haven’t seen so many smiles, so much cordiality and hospitality anywhere else. I’m looking forward to what the Competition has in store for us. Of course, I want to win and I hope that everything will go according to the plan,” expressed another of the Competitors.
