Canadian company ConsuLab, specialized in manufacturing and distributing high-quality training materials for professional and technical training, has provided training aids that will challenge competitors at WorldSkills Kazan 2019.
The company has a long and storied history with Skills Compétences Canada and SkillsUSA, as well as collaborating at with world championship. Since the 35th WorldSkills Competition hosted in Montréal in 1999, ConsuLab has developed and supplied products at dozens of competitions at the national and international level.

A strong supporter of the development of trades, Kevin Boden has personally devoted himself to skills since 2008 and has provided his time and the company’s equipment and resources to many local, provincial, state, and national competitions across North America. He has personally put together an excellent team of professionals within the company that can provide answers to today’s needs in transportation education.
Rick Martineau, Director of Education at ConsuLab, has been a Skills Compétences Canada Provincial Technical Committee member since 2006 and National Technical Committee member since 2015. Rick attended the 39th WorldSkills Competition in preparation for his role as Workshop Supervisor for the Automobile Technology competition in WorldSkills Calgary 2009, where he contributed his vast experience and knowledge. Rick will be joining ConsuLab’s delegation for WorldSkills Kazan 2019.
Tim Dwyer is another member of ConsuLab’s educational team that will be present in Kazan. Tim has volunteered his time with state-level skills competitions since the 1980s when he was a shop owner. That passion and commitment was carried over after selling his business to become an educator at a major university. As part of ConsuLab, Tim has served on the AST Technical Committee for SkillsUSA for the last five years. He has designed many competitions and worked as an Expert at local, state, and national level competitions.
ConsuLab is also the employer of past World Skills Champion Nathan Banke, who won the Skills Canada Competition in Automobile Technology in both 2005 and 2006. He received a medallion of excellence at the 39th WorldSkills Competition in Japan as well. Nathan met Kevin Boden while volunteering as an Expert in a competition sponsored by ConsuLab.
Nathan was honoured to give the competitors’ oath at the start of WorldSkills Shizuoka 2007, which guides ConsuLab’s involvement in WorldSkills and the fairness that company’s contribution desires to achieve. “In the name of all Competitors, I promise to compete fairly, respecting and abiding by the Code of Ethics and Conduct, the Competition Rules, and the WorldSkills values – all in the true spirit of WorldSkills.”
WorldSkills Kazan 2019
WorldSkills Kazan 2019 will be held from August 22-27. Close to 1,300 competitors from 63 WorldSkills Member countries and regions will compete in 56 skills. This will be the largest international event in Russia in 2019.
Kazan was awarded the right to hold the event in 2015, after a vote of WorldSkills Members. WorldSkills Russia works in all 85 regions of the country and is one of the priority projects for the federal government in the field of personnel training and economic development.
