Tatyana Golikova holds meeting of WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Competition Organizer

The meeting of the 45th WorldSkills Competition Organizer was held by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova as part of the 7th National Competition “Young Professionals”. Also, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Director General of the Union “Young Professionals” and other officials took part in the event.

Organizational issues connected with the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 were discussed at the meeting. Also, heritage of the Competition, its volunteer programme, and client group services, safety organization were mentioned, too.

Tatyana Golikova reported that, in accordance with the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, it is planned to allocate budget funds in order to prepare the main residential area for the Competitors – the WorldSkills Village (Universiade Village).

In addition, she reported on the amendments to the federal law “On legal status of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation”, which will simplify the legal regulation for their work on organization and preparation of the National Russian Team.

According to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, work aimed at the preparation for the WorlsSkills Competition is being carried out as planned. “These days we have been hosting the final of the 7th National Competition “Young Professionals”(WorldSkills Russia). We have been checking the level of readiness of all services, ministries and departments, as well as the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre for the WorldSkills Competition. Members of the Board of Directors and the WorldSkills International Secretariat, headed by the President Simon Bartley, arrived in the capital of Tatarstan. During their visit, they will witness our serious and responsible attitude to the preparation for the WorldSkills Competition. 9 major events have already been held at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre. The venue, including temporary facilities, is ready to welcome the Competitors”, noted the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Cooperation with carriers has been established, it is scheduled to increase the number of flights on peak arrival and departure dates for competitors and guests.

“By September 2019, the WorldSkills Competition will have been finished. There is not so much time left, so we have to think about the heritage of the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre in advance”, added Minnikhanov.

About WorldSkills Kazan 2019

The 45th WorldSkills Competition – the main international event of 2019 in Russia – will take place in Kazan on 22-27 August 2019.

Kazan won the right to host the Competition in 2015 having been ahead of other WorldSkills International member countries after voting. The WorldSkills Russia movement embraces 85 Russian regions and is one of the leading staff training projects.
