The start of the new school year is always associated with new goals, events and accomplishments, one of which will be an international internship for the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 volunteers. A team consisting of 19 people travels to Hungary to take part in the WorldSkills 2018, which will be held in Budapest on 26-28 September.
The team includes representatives of the volunteer movement from the Republic of Tatarstan and resource centers for the recruitment of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 volunteers from Astrakhan, Rostov and Chelyabinsk regions and Primorsky Krai. Children from different parts of Russia will represent Kazan as the future city at EuroSkills 2018, which will host the WorldSkills 2019.
“Since 2014 I have been a volunteer, and here it is – my chance to apply and “sharpen my skills” out of Kazan. I and other volunteers will meet all the guests and guide them at the venue. First of all, we will learn everything ourselves – we will have a little time on arrival, so we will have to adapt to the new environment and get involved in the work. A few days are left before our departure, but I am eager to participate in something epic and feel slightly excited. For me, this is the first international departure, but when you are a part of a friendly team of Kazan Volunteers, the sky is the limit”, admitted Ksenia Maslenkova, volunteer from Kazan.
The team of the Organizing Committee of the event offered volunteers from Kazan different positions – from assistance to the WorldSkills Europe Secretariat to navigation for guests and participants at the venue. All the experience of volunteer work management obtained from colleagues in Budapest will be used in the implementation of the volunteer programme during the WorldSkills Kazan 2019.
It should be reminded that various internships were organized in the course of preparation for the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 for volunteers: at the EuroSkills Gothenburg 2016, Preparation Week and WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017, VI Final of the National Competition of Professional Skills “Young Professionals” in 2018 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Internship in Budapest in September will complete a series of international trips of the volunteer team. And in 2019, the volunteers are expected to meet the world community in Kazan – during the Competition Preparation Week in January, at the Final of the National Competition “Young Professionals” in May and, of course, at the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 in August. More than 100 volunteers, leaders of the movement from all over Russia, were able to gain a unique experience of participation in international projects due to the preparation for WorldSkills Kazan 2019, and the observations, technologies and practical skills brought by the volunteers from the internships supplemented the knowledge base of the organizers of the upcoming event significantly.
