Japanese company FANUC, Global Industry Partner of WorldSkills International, will present for the first time the Robot Systems Integration skill at the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Competition.
The skill is categorized under the Future Skills group. Early competitions in Robot Systems Integration were held only at the regional and national levels, where industrial robotics specialists demonstrated their knowledge in the design of robotic complexes in the field of industrial automation.
FANUC engineers developed the terms of reference for this skill based on the WorldSkills international Standards Specifications, which allowed it to be brought to the world stage.
FANUC is a leader in the field of industrial automation, with 60 years of experience in the implementation of such systems. It has been conducting training to improve the qualifications of employees of industrial enterprises around the world to improve the efficiency and quality of technological processes.
Competition in Robot Systems Integration will be held using robots FANUC LR Mate 200iD. These are compact six-axis robots about the size and reach of a human arm. It combines best-in-class load carrying capacity, IP67 protection standard, and FANUC’s superb workmanship. As part of the competition test, participants will need to apply their knowledge in installing, launching, and programming the robot, as well as integrating peripheral equipment, including technical vision.
FANUC equipment will be used in a number of other skill competitions. ROBOSHOT electric injection moulding machines will be represented in Plastic Die Engineering. Participants will need to apply their knowledge in practice in the designing of the mould and establish the process of injection moulding and launching into mass production of plastic products. Furthermore, FANUC robots will be represented in four other Future Skills: Composites Technologies, Internet of Things, Robotic Welding, and Digital Factory. The compact six-axis robots LR Mate 200iD and M10iD, collaborative robots CR 7 / 7l, and welding robots AM120iC will be involved in the Competition in Kazan.
“We are very proud to be a Global Partner of the WorldSkills Competition, as this gives young professionals the opportunity to learn more about the world of industrial robots,” said Mr. Shinichi Tanzava, President and CEO of FANUC Europe Corporation.
FANUC specialized training centres operate in many countries around the world, six of which are located in Russia. The company has been developing and implementing special products for educational institutions for a long time, allowing students in universities, colleges, and schools to put their theoretical knowledge immediately into practice. Educational robotic cells, simulators, and training stands with CNC, compact milling centres, EDM machines, intelligent software NCGuide, and 3D Modelling with Roboguide are the products that the company can offer to establish, strengthen, and develop the skills of young professionals in the field of industrial robotics and CNC.
