Impact of digital transformation and evolution of artificial intelligence on labour market and education to be discussed at WorldSkills Conference 2019

The digital era requires a new set of skills for workforce to have a grip on. Specialists who have advanced digital skills enabling them to perform more efficiently are becoming more and more competitive. Millions of people wonder what skills they need to develop in order to be wanted on the labour market in the nearest 5-10 years.
“Digital transformation is drastically changing the global business landscape and all the business processes. Thus, we are in urgent need of specialists who are able to translate all the analogue business processes into the digital platform, and who are able to manage and make decisions based on the figures and other data analysis,” commented Oleg Podolskij, coordinator of the Digital Economy of the Russian Federation national programme, under the Digital Skills Centre” and “Training for tomorrow: Innovations for lifelong learning” session moderator.
The session participants will discuss the master plan of the federal project “Human Capital for Digital Economy” that concerns such key tasks as rise in digital literacy and digital adaptation of adult population, talent management, and the concept of lifelong learning, re-skilling of professionals, and assistance in training skills necessary for successful performance in the era of total digitalization.
In addition, the session speakers will throw limelight on soon-to-be-implemented digital certificates for fast and free training of key digital economy skills in accordance with the needs of the labour market.

WorldSkills Kazan 2019
The 45th WorldSkills Competition – the main international event of 2019 in Russia – will take place in Kazan on 22-27 August 2019. More than 1,300 Competitors from 63 countries and regions will compete in 56 skills.
Kazan won the right to host the Competition in 2015 having been ahead of other WorldSkills International member countries after voting. The WorldSkills Russia movement embraces all 85 Russian regions and is one of priority vocational talent development projects.
