David Hoey: “We are looking forward to the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Competition”

WorldSkills International Chief Executive Officer David Hoey shared his impressiona of the organization of the 7th National Competition “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) and readiness of the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre for the WorldSkills Competition.

“Kazan Expo is a very important venue for us. It shall be used for the purpose intended. We needed to observe the venue in operation: infrastructure, technical supply, organization of working areas, and other aspects to the finest details. The National Competition (WorldSkills Russia) is a test project before a large-scale event. We are satisfied with the work that has been done and its visible results”, said David Hoey.

According to the WorldSkills International Chief Executive Officer, such competitions, national and international, gather professionals from all over the world. “They share impressions, knowledge, and skills. It motivates our team and makes it go ahead”, noted David Hoey.

“We are delighted with the city and everything happening at the competition venue. We are waiting for August and main competition of the year”, he added.

The 7th National Competition “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) takes place on 20-24 May in Kazan. This is the biggest competition of professional excellence among students of vocational schools (aged 16-22), and secondary schools (aged 14-16). These educational institutions contribute to the professional orientation of youth and implementation of the best international practices in the Russian system of education.

About WorldSkills Kazan 2019

The 45th WorldSkills Competition – the main international event of 2019 in Russia – will take place in Kazan on 22-27 August 2019.

Kazan won the right to host the Competition in 2015 having been ahead of other WorldSkills International member countries after voting. The WorldSkills Russia movement embraces 85 Russian regions and is one of the leading staff training projects.
