Mechanical Reverse Engineering
Reverse engineering is the creation of production projects based on existing facilities for the purpose of repair, modification, or study.
When direct design is used, specialists make a drawing and a finished product is then created. Reverse engineering is a backward process. Often, engineers have only parts of a product and they need to restore the picture of damage, and then to create a 3D model of a reconstructed object.
Reverse engineers have 3D scanning, computer modelling, and materials analysis skills.
The skill is widely used by large industrial companies (aerospace, transport, shipbuilding, energy, and mining), design offices, educational institutions, as well as in the field of prosthesis and restorative medicine.
