On 24 May, the final of the 7th National Competition “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) will wrap up. It was a test project before the WorldSkills Kazan 2019.
The 7th National Competition “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) takes place on 20-24 May in Kazan. This is the biggest competition of professional excellence among students of vocational schools (aged 16-22), and secondary schools (aged 14-16). These educational institutions contribute to the professional orientation of youth and implementation of the best international practices in the Russian system of education.
At the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre, young professionals competed in 91 Skill, and 23 high-tech Skills included in Future Skills, so-called “professions of the future”. WorldSkills Juniors (aged 14-16) competed in 48 Skills, Competitors of “Skills of the Wise” (aged 50+) – in 26 Skills. Professionals of different generations have met in the final of the National Competition for the first time.
More than 1,500 Competitors from different Russian regions took part in the 7th National Competition “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia). Representatives of 26 countries demonstrated their talents and skills out of the competition.
Evgeny Chekalin from Moscow Oblast demonstrated his talents in Hairdressing (Junior Skills). “Everything is going on according to the schedule, organization is good. I liked the venue. I have visited Kazan for the first time, but I have already found time for sightseeing”, Evgeny noted.
Alexey from Chelyabinsk (3D Digital Game Art) is the member of the Team Russia. The National Competition became a rehearsal before the main event of the year for him. “There were Competitors from other countries. It was curious to look at each other and compare our level of proficiency”, said Alexey. He has been to Kazan before as part of the training organized by the Kazan College.
Six sectors were presented at the National Competition “Young Professionals”: Construction and Building Technology, Creative Arts and Fashion, Information and Communication Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Social and Personal Services, Transportation and Logistics.
“I have taken part in such a large-scale event for the first time. Everything is well-organized. Hope to win and we are happy to get a chance to be involved in the Competition”, Tatyana from Novosibirsk confessed (CNC Turning).
More than 1,200 Experts officiated the event. The winners and prize holders of the final of the 7th National Competition “Young Professionals” will be announced today. All of them are the candidates for including in the WorldSkills Russia Team. They will get a chance to represent Russia at the WorldSkills Shanghai 2021 and EuroSkills 2022 in Saint Petersburg.
On 24 May, the closing ceremony of the 7th National Competition “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) will take place at the Tatneft Arena Ice Palace at 19:00. Moreover, online streaming of the event will be available here.
