WorldSkills Visitor Programme under discussion in Kazan

A training workshop on the implementation of the WorldSkills Visitor Programme was held on 14 December at the Kazan Tennis Academy. Representatives of Russian regions taking part in the Competition visited Kazan to find out the details of the upcoming event. The Deputy Director of the Department of State Policy in the Field of Vocational Education and Advanced Training of Personnel of the Board of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kartoshkin gave a welcome speech and greeted the participants of the workshop. The WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Project Executive Emil Gubaydullin and Deputy Director General of ANO Directorate for Sports and Social Projects Maksim Denisov told about the Competition.

The main goal of the Visitor Programme is to popularize skills among students of educational institutions aged 14-19, provide vocational guidance for schoolchildren and create comfortable atmosphere for visitors at the Competition Venues. During the excursion tours, guests will visit the Competition Venues and Interactive Sites “Try a Skill” (“Test yourself”), “Careers advice” (“Career Guidance”) and WorldSkills Culture Park. Visitors will have an opportunity to gain some professional experience and knowledge about skills presented at the Competition. “We would like the guests of the Competition to get the most out of it, and we would be happy to help the students make a vocational choice. The upcoming Competition is a large-scale event, and to taking part in it is a very important experience for young people,” said Emil Gubaydullin.

 About WorldSkills Kazan 2019

The 45th WorldSkills Competition – the main international event of 2019 in Russia – will bring together more than 1,600 young professionals representing over 60 countries and regions who will compete in 56 skills. It will take place in Kazan on 22-27 August 2019. It is expected that more than 250,000 spectators will attend the Competition and associated events.

Kazan won the right to host the Competition in 2015 having been ahead of other WorldSkills International member countries after voting. The WorldSkills Russia movement embraces 85 Russian regions and is one of the leading staff training projects.
