Spasskaya Tower in Kazan Kremlin to be part of hilarious projection show during 45th WorldSkills Competition

During the 45th WorldSkills Competition, residents and guests of Kazan will be able to enjoy a projection show and visit various workshops and exhibitions in the city’s museums.

Every evening from 21 to 27 August, the Spasskaya Tower of the Kazan Kremlin will feature a light projection show with images of classic Tatar, Russian, and world’s works of art. Each performance will start at 20:00.

On 23-25 August, the Cannon Yard of the Kazan Kremlin will host the 3rd Festival “The Kremlin Confederation of ART”. Visitors will be treated to theatrical productions, dance and vocal shows, and street performances.

One of Kazan residents’ favourite spots, the square in front of the Galiaskar Kamal Tatar State Academic Theatre, will be the venue for workshops held as part of the Culture Professions programme on 21-27 August. Each participant will be able to try their hand in such professions as wigmaker, makeup artist, and artist designer. A theatrical performance about the city’s history, “Cinema plus theatre” will take place on the embankment near the pear on 22 August.

The Old Tatar Quarter (“Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda”) will also offer interesting activities: it is hosting a contemporary Tatar culture festival, Sennoy Market (“Pechen Bazary” in Tatar, or “Sennoy Rynok” in Russian), on 18-20 August.

The Gorky and Shalyapin Museum invites everyone who loves music to the exhibition of national musical instruments.

On 23-25 August, the Baki Urmanche Museum will be offering lectures by famous Russian scientists, a book exhibition representing related-field, research, and professional literature, and a musical evening featuring the piano orchestra Sforzando.

The Contemporary Art Gallery of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan will invite everyone to the “March with the Left Foot!” exhibition to see the examples of Russian and Kazan’s avant-garde art.

In addition, the Kazan theatres have also prepared for the WorldSkills Kazan 2019. They will offer their best performances during the Competition days.

WorldSkills Kazan 2019

The 45th WorldSkills Competition – the main international event of 2019 in Russia – will take place in Kazan on 22-27 August 2019. More than 1,300 Competitors from 63 countries and regions will compete in 56 skills.

Kazan won the right to host the Competition in 2015 having been ahead of other WorldSkills International member countries after voting. The WorldSkills Russia movement embraces all 85 Russian regions and is one of priority vocational talent development projects.
