Siemens, Gold Partner of WorldSkills Kazan 2019 and Global Industry Partner of WorldSkills International

Siemens is a WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Gold Partner. As part of the agreement, signed on 9 July 2019, Siemens LLC and “Young Professionals” Union (WorldSkills Russia) join efforts focused on the preparation and holding of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Competition.

It is a special experience for Siemens to become the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Gold Partner. Since 2011, Siemens has been involved in WorldSkills Competition within the framework of the Siemens Automation Cooperates with Education program. “Our strong educational partnership with WorldSkills increases the sustainable quality of vocational training around the globe through our engagement in international and selected national competitions. We are focused on supporting the agile generation of skilled young people by providing first-rate equipment, training, and expertise,” said Ralf-Michael Franke, CEO, Siemens Digital Industries Factory Automation.

The future is digital. Therefore, Siemens is proud to support two of the twenty-five Future Skills in the fields of medicine, industry, and agriculture. Siemens is skill supplier for Future Skills Digital Factory and Industry 4.0, which are both located within the 10,000 square meters Future Skills area. The company has the engineering, domain, and digital know-how to generate performance improvements across the entire value chain, from design to production and operations to maintenance.

As lead sponsor for the Competition, Siemens provides cutting-edge automation products from its portfolio. It provides the Industrial Control competition with SIMATIC S7-1500 and supplies further Polymechanics and Automation, Electrical Installations, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, and Industrial Mechanic Millwright. The machines supplied for Manufacturing Team Challenge, CNC Turning, CNC Milling, and Plastic Die Engineering are controlled by SINUMERIK, from Siemens. These skills are forming the basis of economies around the globe today.

WorldSkills Juniors is another initiative of WorldSkills Kazan 2019, for girls and boys aged 12 to 16. Siemens supports three junior skills: Electrical Installations, Polymechanics and Automation, and Industrial Control.

WorldSkills Kazan 2019

The 45th WorldSkills Competition – the main international event of 2019 in Russia – will take place in Kazan on 22-27 August 2019. More than 1,300 Competitors from 63 countries and regions will compete in 56 skills.

Kazan won the right to host the Competition in 2015 having been ahead of other WorldSkills International member countries after voting. The WorldSkills Russia movement embraces all 85 Russian regions and is one of priority vocational talent development projects.
