Preparation of WorldSkills Kazan 2019 gives another perspective on promotion of vocational occupations, Rustam Minnikhanov says

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and WorldSkills International Chief Executive Officer David Hoey met today in the Government House of the republic.

Present at the meeting were also Director General of the Kazan Expo Minnegaliev Robert, Director General of WorldSkills Russia Robert Urazov and others. 

"At the meeting with the President we spoke on the Competition legacy, because it's all about changing the way people see the vocational occupations, which is crucial for the future of a country," underlined David Hoey.

"The exhibition centre we visited yesterday is one of the best of its kind. And I am sure that the Kazan Expo has a remarkable future with a great number of events it can play stage to, as this venue can host the events of all levels, not only WorldSkills Kazan 2019," David Hoey added.

Rustam Minnikhanov and David Hoey discussed the next steps in the cooperation for delivery of WorldSkills Kazan 2019. The President admitted that the preparation for the Competition shed light on the vocational training development. 

Emil Gubaidullin, Deputy Director General of the Directorate for Sports and Social Projects told journalists that the Competition partners would contribute to cover a part of the organizational expenses.

"Together with our colleagues from WorldSkills Russia and WorldSkills International we work to attract new partners, including the global industrial ones. We hope they will support us as well as they did during the previous events. And of course we put our hopes into our good old partners we've been long collaborating with during the projects delivered by the Directorate."

"I would like to highlight the fact that the Competitions are traditionally sponsored by the companies that provide us with the equipment and machinery in kind," Robert Urazov added. "As to the global market, we don't see any major difficulties.  It is very important for us that most of the WorldSkills International and our local partners have their own plants on the territory of Russia. It lowers the risks and increases their interest in supporting and investing in the vocational personnel trainings."
