WorldSkills International representatives paid a visit to Kazan Expo

Today on 18 April the WorldSkills International Secretariat, team of Union “Young Professionals (WorldSkills Russia)” and Directorate for Sports and Social Projects  visited the construction site of the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre which will play stage to WorldSkills Kazan 2019 in August 2019.

The visit took place in the context of the regular project sessions that were held on 16-24 April in Kazan by the WorldSkills International Secretariat and Competition Organizer.

"I am very impressed by the progress made since our last visit. A fantastic world-class site is currently under way in Kazan. The scale is even larger than what you expect when looking on the images," said after the visit Chief Executive Officer of WorldSkills International, David Hoey, "the national and world competitions will take place here the next year. I congratulate everyone engaged in this project. It is truly amazing."

During the visit, Robert Minnegaliev, Director General of the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre, briefed the WorldSkills International representatives on the progress of construction: they visited the gallery, conference hall, exhibition pavilions, catering zones, offices, and covered passageway joining the Exhibition Centre with the Kazan International Airport.

"All works are on schedule. All engineering works are finished. We are waiting for the good weather to start interior finishing works," noted Robert Minnegaliev.

The Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre with the area of 75,4 m² will feature three exhibition pavilions connected with the airport and Aeroexpress Station by a covered passageway. The Kazan Expo infrastructure includes an up-to-date congress hall with the seating capacity of 3,000 people, 35 multipurpose halls with a capacity from 30 to 500 people, parking zone and catering zone.
