The meeting of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Organising Committee took place in the House of Government in Moscow today, on 21 November.

In her opening speech the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia congratulated once again the team Russia on their victories in Abu Dhabi.

"The results are satisfying but now I want everyone to focus on the Competition that will take place in 2019 in Russia," she said, "It is a great honour to us to host this Competition."

According to Olga Golodets, more than 1,500 Competitors (1,300 Competitors in Abu Dhabi) and 250,000 spectators are expected in Kazan at the Competition that will feature over 50 skills.

"Our objective is not just to host the Competition. It serves as a leverage to improve the vocational education, equipment at schools, and professional training of teachers - it is quite a bottleneck for the moment," added Olga Golodets.

Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of Tatarstan, Vladimir Leonov, underlined that some amendments have been introduced into the project documentation of Kazan Expo based on the results of the visit to Abu Dhabi by the Tatarstan delegation. "We continue to work and we will hold a debriefing meeting together with the WorldSkills Russia, WorldSkills International, and Abu Dhabi 2017 Organising Committee in December. I think we will have the plan, the road map to follow, by the end of this year."
