I’ll keep doing it and hospitality industry is not the limit, because I'm interested in other fields, as well. There is always something to share with others no matter what you do: painting, building houses or cooking.”

Ivlev gave a thumbs-up to the work done in the capital of Tatarstan in the build-up to the Competition: “Kazan is known as a sports capital. It is a prominent centre of education. I’m sure that Kazan has a great potential, it deserves to be the WorldSkills host city.

I come to Kazan very often for shooting sessions or workshops where I share my experience with caterers and chefs. I’m impressed with how fast Kazan has been developing for the last 10-15 years.”

The new Ambassador highly commended the restaurant industry in Kazan. “The restaurant industry here is very developed and is on the same level with that of Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Needless to say, it is due to a rock-solid local culinary tradition that was perfectly integrated into the modern world. It occurred for a number of reasons: firstly, people love this food; secondly, a variety of dishes attracts tourists.”

He is the author of a wide range of cookery books: “My Cooking Philosophy”, “Kitchen for Real Men”, “Russia cooks at home”, “Cooking is as easy as one-two-three”, and the “Chef’s Lessons” series.
