Mastercam, a Global Partner of WorldSkills, is the official supplier to four machining competitions at WorldSkills Kazan 2019: CNC Turning, CNC Milling, Plastic Die Engineering, and Manufacturing Team Challenge. Manufacturing Team Challenge requires the teams to use Mastercam to produce parts on turning and milling machines that may be assembled together to produce a workable product.

The global Mastercam Reseller channel has been helping competitors prepare for competition in their local communities all around the world. The competitors practice for months honing their programming skills with Mastercam in their school or at their jobs. CNC Software, Inc. provides Mastercam software and access to Mastercam University free of charge to WorldSkills competitors for the year leading up to the competition. Additionally, Mastercam’s Reseller in Russia, Colla, Ltd., provided direct assistance to WorldSkills in the preparations for the event in Kazan.

WorldSkills is the largest international skills competition. Every two years, hundreds of young skilled people, accompanied by their teachers and trainers, gather from all corners of the globe to compete in the skills of their various trades, and test themselves against demanding standards. Known as the Olympics of the skilled trades, participants aim to return back to their respective countries with a Gold, Silver, or Bronze medal. WorldSkills competitions have come to symbolize the pinnacle of excellence in vocational training.

The 45th WorldSkills Competition takes place at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre in Kazan, Russia, from 22-27 August 2019.

“Participating takes time, talent, and treasure. With all the lamenting about a lack of skills in the US, let’s support the ones who are championing those skills, who are true masters of their crafts, and are at the starting gate of their careers,” says Meghan West, President of CNC Software, Inc.

“Mastercam is a Global Industry Partner of WorldSkills, and for over 22 years, we have served as the exclusive CAM partner in the event. This makes me proud," adds West.

CNC Software in conjunction with the local Mastercam Resellers, want to get skilled youth involved to become future engineers and technicians.
