Samsung Electronics becomes Overall Event Presenter for WorldSkills Kazan 2019

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the final of the 7th National Competition "Young Professionals"(WorldSkills Russia) in Kazan.

Samsung Electronics, the world’s leading manufacturer of consumer electronics and mobile devices, and WorldSkills International, an international non-commercial organization aimed at promoting professional education and standards of vocational training around the world, signed an agreement according to which Samsung becomes the Overall Event Presenter for the 45^th WorldSkills Competition in Kazan. The agreement was signed in the wings of the final of the 7th National Competition “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia).

Samsung Electronics, Global Premium Partner of WorldSkills International, has been supporting the WorldSkills movement for years. The global partnership with Samsung started in 2007, when Samsung was introduced to the WorldSkills community as a new Global Partner.  Under the partnership agreement, Samsung organizes training programmes at the Samsung Skills Training Centre in Suwon, Korea, a subdivision of Samsung, created with the purpose of supporting young professionals’ dreams by promoting skills excellence.

Starting from 2016, the Samsung Skills Training Centre has been preparing Russian competitors for WorldSkills Competitions. Samsung Skills specialists and external experts host an intensive training programme for the Russian team. After successful one-and-a-half-year training in Mobile Robotics, Kazan students Pavel Fadeev and Andrey Dyubanov placed second at WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017. Another specialist, Albert Mineev, who competed in Mechanical Engineering CAD, won the Medallion of Excellence that is awarded to Competitors who achieve above-average scores in their competition areas.

In 2018, new students, selected via competitive selection in Mechanical Engineering CAD and Plastic Die Engineering, were assigned to undergo a one-and-a-half training programme at the Samsung Skills Training Centre.

Vladislav Rozov, a student of National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute) and competitor in Plastic Die Engineering, placed first at the 2018 Regional Competition in Moscow. Student of the Technical College named after V.D. Potashov, Stanislav Dzhumanyazov of Naberezhnye Chelny (Republic of Tatarstan) was invited to undergo training at the Samsung Skills Training Centre after winningthe Regional Young Professionals (WorldSkills Russia) Competition in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2018.

The 45th WorldSkills Competition – the main international event of 2019 in Russia – will take place in Kazan on 22-27 August 2019.
