The delegation of 57 volunteers representing Worldskills Kazan 2019 Organising Committee will take part in the preparation of the major competition among the young professionals from all over the world, which will take place in Abu Dhabi on 14-19 October 2017. The finishing touches are being put right now – orientation training, accreditation, uniform, and directions from the organizers – everything is ready.

Miriam McCulloch, WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 Volunteer and Education Programme Coordinator, led the orientation training. The volunteers learned more about WorldSkills, its history, mission, Competition properties, rules of conduct at the venue, safety management, and local cultural conventions. A whole unit was dedicated to volunteers' role in the delivery of the event, their functional areas, rules of communication with representatives of different client groups, and information sources which could be of help while talking to the guests of the Competition. Functional volunteer coordinators held a specific training and coaching in the workplace of the volunteers. By the end of the training, the volunteers received the long-awaited uniform and marketing pack from the Competition partners.

The meeting with WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Organising Committee wrapped up the eventful day. Deputy Director General of the Directorate for Sports and Social Projects, Emil Gubaidullin admitted that volunteers are important part of the Russian team, and their experience at Worldskills Abu Dhabi 2017 will be indispensable for the preparation of the Competition in 2019.

Since the arrival, the volunteers are provided with Accommodation, Catering, Transport, and Motivational Programme services. Foreign volunteers will also be able to take advantage of excursions to the local attractions and a chance see with their own eyes the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Competition.

The volunteers will stay in Abu Dhabi till 20 October. They will engage in the following areas: Skill Competition Assistant, Delegate Team Support, Media, Accreditation, Conference Programme, Protocol, and others.
