WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Volunteer Programme to be presented at International Volunteer Forum in Moscow

On 3-4 December, WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Volunteer Programme will be presented at the International Volunteer Forum in Moscow (VDNH, 69 hall). 15,000 volunteers from Russia and other countries are expected to take part in the event. Executives of different social projects, UN humanitarian mission participants, ecology protectors, volunteers from international organizations (Red Cross, UNICEF, AIESEC, and others), and large-scale events (2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, Formula-1, World Championships) will be among them.
The Forum will become a final event of the Volunteer Year in Russia. The event will be arranged in celebration of the National and International Volunteer Day.
A special on-site volunteer recruiting centre will be organized at the Forum Venue. The WorldSkills Kazan will be held on 22-27 August 2019. 3,500 volunteers from Russia and other countries representing over 20 functional areas will be involved in the event.
The application period for volunteers of the Competition started in October 2017 in Sochi at the World Festival of Youth and Students. Since the start, candidates around the world have had an opportunity to fill out a form and submit an application clicking the link https://worldskills2019.com/en/get-involved/volunteers/.
For now, 12,120 applications have been submitted from more than 70 countries. The application campaign will last until 31 December 2018. Since 7 November, Skype and telephone interviews with foreign and nonresident candidates have been arranged, more than 700 interviews have been conducted in Kazan. The selection of candidates has started in volunteer recruiting centres. This campaign will last until the end of March 2019. Volunteer Team training will begin in the spring of 2019.
Volunteer recruiting centres have started their activity in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Khabarovsk Krai, Astrakhan Oblast, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Udmurt Republic, Primorsky Krai, Republic of Karelia, Novosibirsk Oblast, Stavropol Krai, Rostov Oblast, Krasnodar Krai, Irkutsk region, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Chuvash Republic, and Moscow.
In accordance with the international standards, the Organising Committee will provide each volunteer with a wide range of services. Life and health insurance, catering and drinking water during shifts; free public transport; accommodation of foreign and nonresident volunteers in Kazan; special uniform; official certificate / letter of gratitude; marketing pack for volunteers; volunteer points at the Competition venues; programme of motivation, recognition and encouragement.
About WorldSkills Kazan 2019
The 45th WorldSkills Competition – the main international event of 2019 in Russia – will bring together more than 1,600 young professionals representing over 60 countries and regions who will compete in 56 skills. It will take place in Kazan on 22-27 August 2019. It is expected that more than 250,000 spectators will attend the Competition and associated events.
Kazan won the right to host the Competition in 2015 having been ahead of other WorldSkills International member countries after voting. The WorldSkills Russia movement embraces 85 Russian regions and is one of the leading staff training projects.
