Three VOL_Skills winners join WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Volunteer Team

Last weekend, the final of the “VOL_Skills” competition took place in Kazan. President of WorldSkills International Simon Bartley, and First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan Andrey Pominov attended the event.

The goal of the competition was to popularize the values of volunteering and WorldSkills ideas. The winners of the first and second prizes got the opportunity to join the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Volunteer Team and the participants who ranked third, fourth and fifth became the volunteers of the Final of the VII National Competition “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia). According to the conditions, each educational institution at the competition was to be represented by a team of 10 people (they were supervised by their teacher). During the month, students had to complete several tasks: to arrange the WorldSkills thematic space in their educational institution, take photographs and video clips focused on the given topics, and implement a volunteer project.

Students of 34 secondary schools representing Kazan, cities and districts of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in the competition.  The following teams are among the leaders of onsite and online parts of the competition.

- 1st prize – Kazan Pedagogical College;

- 2nd prize – Kazan Technical School of Information Technologies and Communications;

- 3rd prize – Arsk Pedagogical College named after G. Tukay;

- 4th prize – Nurlat Technical School of Agriculture;

- 5th prize – Naberezhnye Chelny Pedagogical College, Nizhnekamsk Pedagogical College.
