Launch of video clip contest announced by WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Competition Organizer

Time before the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 is bleeding off the clock. On 22 August 2019, the major opening ceremony of the Competition will take place at the Kazan Arena Stadium.

The WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Competition Organizer has announced the launch of the video clip contest for talented directors and camera operators, professionals and amateurs from all corners of Russia. To take part in the contest, create a video clip about your region and tell about its peculiarities. The best video recordings will be included in the presentation video clip to be shown at the Opening Ceremony of the Competition. The authors of the best works will get invitation letters for the ceremony (the winner will be provided with a free flight to Kazan).


Since ancient times, Russian culture has been built on respect for craftsmen and masters. It was impossible to survive without having skills, that is why everyone mastered one or another craft to some extent, but only a few people achieved recognition. Some crafts have become widely known and turned into symbols of Russia abroad, while others have barely survived in the deep countryside. But they all left a rich cultural heritage and contributed to the development of other industries.


Show the native shore in all its glory: city life, nature, people, mainly – arts and crafts which convey the philosophy of skills.  


File resolution shall not be lower than 1920х1080 (full HD). Codec and container format shall be selected by the contestant. The highest quality shall be preserved.


Separate master sound track. Format: .wav. Separate sound track with voices and/or effects (if any). Separate sound track with music.


Your unconventional approach is encouraged. Be conscious of the fact that shots shall blend in with the general video portrait of Russia. Close-up pictures of people, general views of nature/city/working space, static views, and follow shots are allowed. Landscape shooting is preferable.


The contest will run from 15 March to 1 June 2019. The contest results will be published on the official website of the Competition on 1 July 2019. The authors of the best works will be awarded with invitation letters for the Opening Ceremony of the Competition.

The letter must contain a brief description: what is going on, where the action takes place, and, if necessary, mention the historical background.

A single video clip about all parts of Russia through the eyes of its inhabitants will be edited on the basis of the video recordings received from the contestants. Competitors and spectators all around the world will be able to see an inspiring, sincere and extraordinary portrait of the country created by talented masters of Russia.
