Samsung Electronics trains participants of world championships at Samsung Skills Education Centre

WorldSkills Kazan 2019 is the seventh consecutive WorldSkills Competition supported by Samsung Electronics, the world’s leading manufacturer of consumer electronics and mobile devices.

Since 2007, Samsung Electronics has been supporting the WorldSkills movement whose goal is to raise the profile and recognition of skilled people, and show how important skills are in achieving economic growth and personal success. As part of the partnership, Samsung has been training WorldSkills competitors at the Samsung Skills training centre located in Suwon (South Korea).

In 2019, Samsung Electronics and WorldSkills International entered into an agreement whereby Samsung became the Overall Event Presenter of the 45th WorldSkills Competition to be held in Kazan, Russia from 22-27 August. The agreement was signed as part of the final of the 7th “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) National Competition Final in Kazan.

Samsung Skills is the company’s division created specifically in order to enhance the professional skills of young specialists by sponsoring the WorldSkills Competitions and training young competitors to become WorldSkills Competitors and Champions. The training is conducted according to a special system with the participation of internal and external experts as well as the WorldSkills Champions.

Samsung also holds an annual Global Samsung Skills Competition, which provides its skilled employees with a platform to improve and demonstrate their skills excellence. The company has sponsored the Korea National Skills Competition as well as the Korean national team for the WorldSkills Competition since 2007.

For 12 years, in Korea alone, the company has fostered 42 Competitors for Team Korea and 27 winners of WorldSkills Competitions. Since 2007, Samsung Electronics has hired approximately 490 young Korean specialists who participated in the Korea National Skills Competition.
