Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law simplifying the employment procedure for foreign workers engaged in preparation and delivery of the 45th WorldSkills Competition. The respective document was published on an official legal information portal.

As documents accompanying the law state, “An entity determined by the Government of the Russian Federation shall be entitled to engage foreign nationals to perform labour activity during the period of organizing and delivering professional skills competitions in the territory of the Russian Federation with no foreign worker permits required.” In that case, foreigners will not need a work permit or a patent, and invitations for Russian visa will be issued to them irrespective of the existing quota.

According to  Ekaterina Loshkareva, WorldSkills International Official Delegate Russia, this decision will facilitate employment of foreign specialists at the world’s major talent-training event with its hosting entrusted to Russia. “We are very happy with that decision, as it is an important step towards smooth experience sharing between experts from different countries,” Ekaterina Loshkareva noted. “It is a very effective and positive measure enabling fruitful relations and mutual understanding between countries generally, in addition to reaching the full potential of the international competition.”
