Today on 6 October, the renowned chef and caterer Arkady Novikov met the WorldSkills Russia national team.

The meeting was held in the lead-up to the trip to Abu Dhabi, where the WorldSkills Russia national team is to compete at WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017. At the Competition, the official WorldSkills Flag Handover ceremony to Russia will take place, as it is the next host city of the 45 edition of WorldSkills Competition, taking place in Kazan on 29 August - 3 September 2019.

More than 1,300 young professionals from 77 countries will compete for medals at the Competition in Abu Dhabi. The Russian team takes part in WorldSkills Competition for the third time. This year the team features 58 Competitiors.

Arkady Novikov wished the national team to believe in themselves and their country, and nothing but the victory at the Competition. "Every man is the blacksmith of his own happiness! May be you strike your happiness at this very moment, or when you will take part at the Competition. You must try hard. For you this is a springboard. Everyone of you should do your best to be proud of yourself afterwards. You represent our country, and we wait for your medals. You have a lot of competitors who are listening to other guidance in their turn. The situation in the country is not that simple. Everyone wants to press or denounce us. If we achieve the medals with your help and will win, it will be a success. A little victory for the whole country!"
