100 more volunteers from Russian regions to join WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Volunteer Team

As part of the 7th National Competition “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) ANO Association of Volunteer Centres and ANO Directorate for Sports and Social Projects signed an agreement on volunteer mobility programme implementation.

Deputy Director General of ANO Directorate for Sports and Social Projects Alexander Karpov and Deputy Head of ANO Association of Volunteer Centres Ivan Radko took part in the ceremony.

The agreement attests to the fact that 100 more candidates from Russian regions can take part in the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Competition as volunteers. ANO Association of Volunteer Centres will pay for their accommodation in Kazan and compensate their transportation expenses.

According to the results of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Volunteer Campaign, more than 15,000 applications were received from 90 countries. The campaign took 437 days. 3,500 volunteers are expected to participate in the event.

Association of Volunteer Centres is the biggest volunteer organization in Russia created in 2014 by the initiative of the President of Russia. Its goal is to save the heritage of the Volunteer Programme of the Olympics 2014 (Sochi), and develop the volunteer movement. Association of Volunteer Centres unites 142 organizations, including charity funds, national coordinating bodies, volunteer centres of universities and colleges, resource centres, and state authorities of 60 Russian regions.

About WorldSkills Kazan 2019

The 45th WorldSkills Competition – the main international event of 2019 in Russia – will take place in Kazan on 22-27 August 2019.

Kazan won the right to host the Competition in 2015 having been ahead of other WorldSkills International member countries after voting. The WorldSkills Russia movement embraces 85 Russian regions and is one of the leading staff training projects.
