On 20 September, David Hoey, Executive Director of the WorldSkills International, and Alex Musial, Manager of the “One school – one country” project, attended an official meeting with the directors of Kazan schools. They discussed the project implementation during the WorldSkills Kazan 2019. Andrei Pominov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Emil Gubaydullin, Project Manager of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019, took part in the meeting, too.

“We try to assign the delegation from one country to one school, but it turns out in a different way: some delegations are large, others are not really, and there will be schools assigned to several countries at once. Everything depends on the logistics. Our greatest desire is to establish cultural exchange”, David Hoey noted.

During the meeting, the guests informed the heads of educational institutions of Kazan about the “One school - one country” project aimed at the popularization of working professions in the youth environment and cultural exchange between the countries within this area. Students of schools, general education institutions and professional education organizations aged from 11 to 15 and representatives of national WSI member teams, participants of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 are supposed to be the participants of the project and attend general education and secondary specialized colleges of Kazan, Laishevsky and Zelenodolsky districts of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Each educational institution is expected to be under the responsibility of the WSI member-country. Meeting of the representatives of schools and participating countries will take place during the WorldSkills 2019 Preparation Week in January. Members of national teams will tell about the culture of their countries and get acquainted with the culture and traditions of the host country at the WorldSkills Competition.
